A graduate of the Playwright’s Programme at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre, Helen has had several plays produced including, ‘The Brink’ and ‘Gun Metal Blue', which won the Blink.Theatre Award for New Writing in 2017. Her most recent play, ‘Buckled’ opened at Shakespeare North Playhouse Studio in March 2024 and she was a featured artist in ‘UP NEXT’ Festival at Unity in May 2024. In March 2025 'Buckled' toured several venues in the Northwest including The Arts Centre, Edge Hill and 53Two, Manchester.
Helen divides her time between writing, teaching and facilitating sessions for creatives, young people and adults from a diverse range of communities.
She is a recent recipient of Arts Council England ‘Developing your Creative Practice’ funding and is a trustee of Unity Theatre, Liverpool.
My next 6 week online course 'An Introduction to Playwriting' will be starting in September 2025.
This course is suitable for beginners and will cover areas such as: layout, using stage directions,
character, types of dialogue, plot v story and use of exposition.
